Cuban-born Andres Alonso is the CEO of the Baltimore City Schools. Alonso graduated from Columbia University before going on to get a law degree and a doctorate in education at Harvard. NSC must have used up all the FY2007 visas...if not and they did not work on the last day of FY2007, then we can conclude that they really don't care if visas are wasted or not.
Do not expect any approval from NSC today....we can only expect automatic uptdates!

Hi:
My full 6 years of H-1B expires in Jan 2010. My labor will be filed in Jan 2009. I would like to go back to school full time on F-1 in Fall 09. At that time, I would still have 5 months of H-1B time remaining plus a priority date. After I graduate, find a job on a new OPT, would it be enough time to start a new GC processing, without having to go back home for a year?

Hello,
It seems that I made a mistake in my DS-160 and my H1B got stamped with an error in my middle name. I repeated my lastname as my middle name so my full name appears as: 1stName 1stLASTNAME 1stLASTNAME 2ndLastname
I have a Tourist Visa also stamped wich is OK. Also the data on my passport.
My I797 is OK and everything else is OK.
I am still in my home country. Should I be worried about it? Should I try change it here or in the US?
In any event, what's the correct procedure to change it?

My fiancee is currently on H1B (got through the 2008 quota) and I am currently on F1 visa status. She is planning to go on an F2 as my dependent.
Please clarify these doubts:
When she gets a job while she is on F2 and the new employer processes her H1B does she have to go through the whole process of H1B as a new visa issue (annual cap) or is it like an H1B transfer?
Once going from H1B to F2, is there a certain time period one has to wait before one can go back to H1B?
If the F2 application is pending, is it possible to reapply from F2 back to H1B during that period?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Gurus,
If you look at my signature, My 485 has been transferred to TSC from NSC and AP is still stuck at NSC. I have some emergent situation back home , I have faxed the doctor certificate and called USCIS using POJ method and the guy says it might take another month. wat the *****....tried infopass..my local office doesnt have no more appointments.
My questions:
1. Can I take Infopass appointment anywhere else which is not my local office?
2. Can I apply a new 131 application at TSC as my 485 is there now?
Someone pls advise.

I have a question about H1B transfer. I joined a company A on h1b in may 2005 and did an H1B transfer on july 2006 to company B. Now INS has sent an RFE (for company B financial). I have submitted all the relevant documents when I joined company B for H1B transfer so my credentials are crystal clear. Now when the comhpany B sends a response to INS and if H1B does not get approved. Would I be able to do an H1B transfer to any other company. I spoke to one company they are saying that since the RFE is on the company's credibility so they can do an transfer provided if we submit all the paystubs which we got from company B. I have been working for a client and have all the recent paystubs. Please advice.

There is a mistake in my 485 cover letter. The letter states that I am EB3 but actually I am EB2.
Will this cause any problem? Will USCIS deny my case? Please note we included I-140 approval form in the file.

Hi,
I have an EB2 I-140 approved with priority date of July 2006, but also recently got EB3 I-140 approved with priority date of May 2003.
Even though the dates are current, but it may retrograte in coming months, so Can I file I-485 using my approved EB2 with the priority date of EB3.
Please advice.
