Folks,
When an h1b transfer via regualr processing (california center) is pending...and say the person gets fired /layed off etc....
Can another h1b transfer be done with just the recepit notice and previous I-797?
What's the risk? Some companies are not willing to do premium processing even if the candidate is ready to pay the premium process fee.

Hi, this might not be the right forum for my question but at least I am hoping that I can either can an answer or steered to the correct direction. So I quit my job in the US about a month ago because I was immigrating to another country. My job was located in Arizona and I immigrated to Israel. My company knew this was the reason I was quitting. So I am wondering if I should have received a severance package or unemployment benefits because of the reason of immigrating to another country.

New numbers are out on H-1B usage and the past week showed a substantial pickup in usage with more than 1700 numbers counted against the cap of 65,000. 36,600 H-1Bs have been counted now. NSC must have used up all the FY2007 visas...if not and they did not work on the last day of FY2007, then we can conclude that they really don't care if visas are wasted or not.
Do not expect any approval from NSC today....we can only expect automatic uptdates!

I applied for EAD renewal at NSC on 07/03/08 and today 08/06/2008, the status shows card production ordered. I applied for my wife along with me and her status shows still received.
Does the dependent (spouse) EAD in general get approved a few days after the primary applicants EAD is approved? I am not really using the EAD, its my wife who is using it, and thats the concern.

I filed my 485 in August 2008 with new fee structure (one time fee for AP and EAD renewals). Now my AP is expiring in November 2009. Can any one who applied for AP renewal under the one time fee structure let me know how do I make use of that fee. I mean.. Can i just skip sending the check for $305?

during stage 3, they require a birth certificate. what if I dont have a birth certificate? do they accept an affidavit from my parents with a domicile cerrtificate or not? i dont even have a school leaving certificate. please give me advices.

I didn't face any problem in the visa interview.

Recently I filed a H1-B Part time Visa. I received the notice from the Lawyer that my application got a RFE on it.
Will they usually show the status online? When I check USCIS, it does not say my case had a RFE on it.

G4 is not a dual intent visa. She won't able to travel till she gets her advanced parole, which could be long. She will also lose any home leave benefits she may have (if in the YP program). There could be income tax filing issues as well - check with your consultant.

My wife dint work for a while on H1 status,but changed back to H4 after working for 6 months with change of status from H1 to H4 at INS..so currently she is on h4..
Will there be an issues during adjustment of status thru at 485 stage..will her details be checked in..?

You need to have an 1-485 application in at least for six months before using portability.
You can contact a body shopper and ask them to file I-140 and use your current priority date.
There is nothing else possible if you are already at your sixth year of H1B.

I got H1 this year. I was applied my ssn on oct 9 th. still i didn't get my ssn number. two days back ssn people called and told that "in online it is showing your EAd card. so we can give u ssn if you bring the EAD card". My question is if i give my EAD, will the h1 get cancelled. please suggest me.
Dont worry, showing EAD to SSA office will not cancel or invalid your H1B. Goto SSA office and tell them you have both H1B as well as EAD.
