Hi, I have my labor approved by Company A and I140 filed as soon as I got the labor. Before this I140 got approved I changed to Company B who filed for my labor and applied for I140 as soon as it got approved. My I140 with company B got approved and then the I140 with the old company A got approved 3 months later. Can I somehow get the old PD. Can some one who have been in similar situation or know some one in the similar situation answer this. I will be able to get a 2 year advance if this works out.

IV website service provider has informed that they will be installing new hardware on the core switches that are used by IV servers. As such there is a scheduled down time of up to an hour which will occur on October 24, 2008, sometime between 12 AM CST and 6 AM CST.

Hi,
Please advice me on below:-
1)I am on H1b visa and currently i am on bench. My 140 is approved and my H1b is expiring on sep30 ,2009. I got rfe for h1b extension asking for client letter.
Should i convert to h4 or do h1b transfer if i could be able to get someone to transfer it.
2) Also if I go to h4 visa will my green card processing with priority date remain same if i go back to same employer and ask them to file my h1b again after i get a project. Or they again have to start the process again even with same employer. Also what if i go with different employer.
3. If I apply for H4 visa now and in mean time i get a project before sep 30 2009, then what do I need to do. can i just ask my employer to again file h1b extension.
4) SO if I do h1b transfer or go on h4 what are the pros and cons.
Please let me know ASAP.

Applying for SSN doesn't invalidates your H1..
I received my EAD recently and shortly applied and got SSN. Its a card which allows you to work. Doesnt cancel nothing :D

Enrique's Journey (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5225180) is a very powerful book written by an LA Times journalist about illegal migrants who take the Tren de los muertos, or the Train of the Dead to get to the US.
Will it be the kind of book, like 'Uncle Tom's Cabin' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncle_Tom's_Cabin) to shake the conscience of a country to generate true Immigration reform? Will it move the likes of even politicians, who have no conscience, and get Immigration Reform accomplished?
I hope so. I had tears all through while reading the excerpts from the book, and hearing Sonia Nazario on NPR today.
As a disclaimer, this is my personal opinion - IV has no position on the issue of illegal immigration.

You should get to talk to USCIS coz this is wrong for sure......USCIS should issue you a new EAD with no additional cost.........Even if you do not plan to use EAD card get the issue fixed.......

I have a break period of 4.5 months. May 15 - Oct 1st. I was wondering if its OK if I just take a course in fall or should I enroll for summer as well. My grace period will end Jul 15th but by that time I should have an I-20 with me for Fall. Is that fine?

Therefore, we recommend that EAD and AP renewals be filed 4 months prior to the expiration date, the earliest date USCIS will accept renewal applications. For EAD applications that have been pending for more than 90 days, an interim EAD card can be issued. Please contact our office for assistance with expedite procedures for your pending I-765 or I-131 application if your current work authorization is about to expire or if you have an emergent need to travel.
